The Hayat nagar mosque and serai were builtin the village of Hayatnagar, founded by Hayat Bakshi Begum mother of Sultan Abdulla Qutub Shah VII. The mosque and sarai were built outside the roval palace. The mosque which has been built on a terrace is situated inside a extensive Karwan Sarai. The mosque has 5 double arches, and 2 lofty minarets. The prayer nitch is made of plsater. The mosque at Hayatnagar has a floor made of ashler stone, and the facade is decorated in succo. In the centre of the terrace there is a cistern. The oblong shaped court-yard 450 X 400 is surrounded by double rooms for the use of travellers Sarai of man Saheba . There are 3 gate entrances to the Sarai. At one end of the court-yard there is a big well hati bouli. Outside the serai there is the Tal Makan. The mosque has been built in the Qutub Shahi architectural style. |
