The Paigah tombs are exclusive specimens of Hyderabad s architecture with intricate stucco and jali work. This burial ground contains the tombs of the well known family of shams-ul-umra, a noble family of Hyderabad. Along with the grave of the founder of the family, Newab Tegah Jung shamas-Ul-Umra Bahadur other members of the family are also buried eg. Nawab sir vikaruo-Umra Bandur, nawab Zafar Jung Bandur, Nawab sir asman Jah Bahadur, Nawab Sri Khurshid Jah Bahadur, Nawab shamsul-Umra III, Lady Khurshid Jah Bahudur. The paigah tombs are also listed for thier architectural importance. the tombs stand in a large court yard, with a mosque underneath. The gateway to the court yard is a two storeyed building with a naubat Khana. The grave vards are surrounded by arched corridors. The arched door-ways are profusely ornamented in stucco, and the sides are of fine perforated work constructed of small tiles placed edgeways in fanciful designs and faced with stucco.
