The main shrine of lord marundisvarar faces west instead of east it has a vimana 30 feet high . By the side of the main shrine in the south is the shrine for tyagaraja . The mandapa front of this Tyagaraja shrine is of the 20th century. The tripurasundari shrine which is on the north eastern side of the temple and which faces the belongs to the period of rajedra I chola 1012-43 A.D to the north ist of the temple is the large tank with a 16pillared niradum in the middle in front of the temple is a ruined and unused destroyed by hyder ali of my sore, during his invasion of the area. |
