| Brief History / संक्षिप्त इतिहास | This was originally the library of Dara Shikoh , the eldest son of Shahjahan. The building was once the residence of Ali Mardan khan and later of David Ochterlony, the first British resident. It has also housed a government college and various schools. |

This structure has multiple iconic columns with capitals. The facade has a large verandah. The present building is largely the work of the British though original elements can be seen. The original plinths and steps of Dara Shikoh can be seen from the rear. The plinth is about three m high and sheds have been erected against it. |
