| Brief History / संक्षिप्त इतिहास | Built in 1867, it is one of the oldest railway stations made by the British in India. Large parts of the walled city including the gardens built by Shahjahan s daughter Jahanara ,were destroyed after a revolt of 1857 and replaced by a railway line.The railway station was built by clearing complete the neighborhoods that were to the north of the gardens. |

It has magnificent facade with arcaded patterns. It is a three-storey building having deep verandah on both floors. The building has many Gothic features including tower like bastions that form the corners of projecting porches, giving the building a uniquely imposing facade. The building is painted with brick red color and with white paint for highlighting certain architectural features. |
