After independence, it was renamed after Hardayal, who was a freedom fighter. |

The colonial era building is built on a rectangular plan. It has a central double-height room. The eastern portion now serves as a dispensary, while the library is entered through the west. There is a plaque at the entrance explaining the reason for the building of the library. Many alterations in the form of mezannine floors have been made. At the first-floor level around the central atrium there are narrow rooms that are not in use. The central room has a double dome with the room in the dome being used as a storage space. There is floral pattern at the springing point. |
