The area is fairly tightly built defined by narrow alleys and descending terrain along which the neighbourhood is laid out. The area is fairly well vegetated, defined by orchards and farmlands beyond the Mohalla. |

| Brief History / संक्षिप्त इतिहास | The building was originally constructed by Ghulam Nabi Bacha who was involved in fruit business in the middle part of the 20th century. The present owner of the building is Ghulam Qadir who is a butcher by profession. |

Sopore, a historic town of north Kashmir was founded by Suyya an able engineer of King Avantivarman in 880 AD and was named Suyya-pur. Sopore is another riverfront town spread out linearly on both the banks of River Jhelum. The principal occupation of local population is farming and tending fruit orchards. Much like the Srinagar city, Sopore town is abounded with wooden vernacular buildings. The town is known for its apple and grain productivity and as such still bears a number of granaries and orchards. |

The property is located adjacent to the road and as such forms a significant cultural landmark. The building consists of three floors with the entrance from the rear side. The ground floor has three rooms which are arranged along the entrance lobby and the same arrangement of rooms repeats on the first floor. The second floor has a large hall and smaller cabin under the roof space, attached to the large hall. The building is one of the tallest buildings in the area. The building also has a wooden dub on the rear side. |

The materials used in the construction of this structure include burnt bricks, stone for the construction of ground floor , wooden door window frames and panels. The building has segmental arched windows on all the facades, each of which is highlighted by moulded brick surround. The ground floor of the building is built in stone. The roof of the building is made of galvanized sheets. |
