The area was one of the most affected ones during the Indian partition of 1947 and was badly destroyed in the earthquake of 2005. These events have therefore left a permanent and prominent impression on the people and also the urban fabric of the area and add, in unique ways, to the cultural essence of the place. |

The building is rectangular in plan and has a symmetrical layout. It consists of three bays, with the central one being occupied by the entrance portico and foyer. The central foyer leads to two bedrooms on either side. Each of the bedrooms being supplied with associated facilities like dresser and bathroom. The building has the same layout in the ground as well as the second floor. The central bay is flanked by two octagonal projections. The staircase lies at the rear side of the house. |

It is essentially a load bearing construction, with thick walls in random rubble masonry lined externally with neatly dressed stones. Most walls have been plastered with cement. Several rooms have fire places and elaborate ceilings. The window openings are square in shape set within segmental arched profiles. |
