Description of Building/ Structure/Site
इमारत/संरचना/स्थल का विवरण
The modern dargah is situated at the far end of the village from the famous shrine of Hazrat Nizamuddin Auliya. The domed building which has been erected on the grave, inside a large chamber, is rectangular in plan. It is roofed by a vault, supported on four pillars. It has openings from each of its four sides. There is a marble grave lies inside the tomb which is covered with golden chaddar. The parapet is crowned with kangura battlement motifs engraved on stone. The vaulted roof is flanked by small minarets at all four corners. Above the flat roof of the chamber, there is another square domed apartment with openings on each of its four sides. Beyond the tomb, is a raised platform built around a thorn tree that disappeared through a gap in the dome above. Though modern, the design of the complex reflects the architectural tradition of the older buildings around it. There are also a set of retreat rooms around the back of the building.
