It is a two chambered house type temple built in stone. The temple stnds on a high plinth. Its roof is made of tin which is supported by big wooden beams and stone pillars. The door jambs have Lakshmi and two dvarapalas. About the door jambsthe lintel have the Navagrah figures. No side deities are found. The presiding deities are wooden images of Jagannath. Balabhadra and Subhadra . The inner side of the roof bears a few wood carvings depicting the stories from Krishna Lila. The wooden beams are heighly carved with scrolls. A garuda pillar of five feet, high is found infront of the temple. Its height is about 20 feet. About 40 Maharanas from Tangi of Puri dist. were engaged in the construction of the temple. A stone boundary wall encloses the temple. |
