The Shevakizhamai Padithurai consists of a sries of granite steps leading to the river Cauvery. A huge brick platform or projection covered with granite was erected right on the river on one side of the Padithurai, the exact purpose of this projection is unknown but it is believed that it was erected to check the flow of water to an extent. |
