The building represents the usual Agraharam style. The front portion of the tinnai which has a tile-roof standing on wooden pillars is a very recent construction. The roofing consists of the Madras terrace and the vaulted type. The building is plastered. Wooden beams below the vault-roof have been put-up to fix the Unjal swings . Fat wooden pillars and circular granite pillars adorn the rooms. There is a well in the backyard, near the well around 60 years ago, a trough which is some what like a rectangular tank was erected about 2 1 2 feet above floor-level. Water poured into the trough would reach the kitchen through pipes cocealed inside the walls. |
