The temple has four entrances, one on each side. The gopurams above three of the entrances are gigantic and well preserved. Behind each of the entrances, there is an open yard. The temple possesses a number of subsidiary structures all within a sprawling campus. The main shrine has several mandapas with granite pillars. Some of the pillars have bracket figurines terminating in the inverted lotus bud- a typical Vijayanagar feature. There is an intricately carved vimana above the garbagriha. There is a small cell near to the shrine housing an image of Lord Ganesa, which is a war-trophy brought by Rajendra Chola 1014-44 from Odisha. |
