| Brief History / संक्षिप्त इतिहास | This structure is erected to commemorate the first meeting between Sir Martanda Bairava Tondaiman, the Raja of Pudukkottai and Queen Victoria at Windsor Castle, London on the 14th July, 1898. The foundation stone of the town hall was laid by His Excellency Sir Arthur Elibank Havelock, Governor of Madras on 14th February, 1899. The town hall was built by public subscriptions. |

The two storied structure which has been erected on a raised plinth is brick-built and plastered. Most of the openings including the windows are arch-shaped. There is a large pillared hall in the ground floor preceded by a front verandah, along the outer edge of this verandah are a row of arched openings. The ceiling of the ground floor is of the Madras terrace type. The first floor is tile- roofed. |
