According to the traditions the temple was built 500 years ago by the artisans from Mandi. It is said that the temple that existed here before the present temple was damaged inadvertently by the men of Raja of Bushahar state. |

The temple is double storied and built in tower type of pahari architecture. Its walls are built of stone and wood masonry locally known as katth-kuni. Its roof is elevated and covered with slates. |
