The stratigraphic sequence comprises a coarse cobbly-pebbly ferricrete gravel on the surface of which artefacts occur. These overlie a cobble-boulder sized ferruginous gravel. Together these constitute the Quartz Gravels Fm. as termed by the Geological Survey of India. An extensive scatter of artefacts, cores and debitage is noted. The average density of artefacts is around 40-50 m2 which rises to upto 60 m2 including chips. |
