It lies in area between the flood plain of river Yamuna on the East and Delhi Ridge on the West. Delhi Ridge is a northern extension of ancient Aravalli Range.

The monumental gateway is rectangular in plan. The gateway is two-bays deep with a smaller first bay roofed by a vault and a second domed bay. The southern side of the second entrance bay has door openings. It has a series of three arch cover the span. Inside the gateway is rubble masonry plastered platform on either side of the passage. The interior facade has plain lime wash while the exterior front side of the facade has been elaborately decorated with broken colorful ceramic tiles. Both sides of the entrance raised asanas have been made for sitting that lead to the room.

The building is constructed of rubble masonry as a core material and coated with plaster. Sandstone and broken ceramic tiles have also been used as a building material
