The beautiful marble enclosure is rectangular in plan and can be entered from the east through a marble gateway. The internal measurement of marble structure is approx. 12.25m by 7.6m. The interior roof is flat and profusely decorated. There is a black marble tank in which qadam sharif is resting and a sacred swards called shabih of zulfeqar inside the central chamber.Earlier this sacredstone was set in the centre of the bottom of a marble tank measuring approx. 1.25 m by 0.64 m by 0.40 m deep, which was fixed on the middle of a marble platform measuring approx. 2.16 m by 1.64 m by 0.80 m high. The platform was constructed in the centre of the structure, and was left uncovered without roof. The sanctum are composed of black marble as mentioned and lined with numerous gilded and intricately sculpted replicas and artworks of Hazrat Ali s and Hazrat Hussain s mausoleum and also framed photographs and fragments of paper cloth imprinted with verses and calligraphy. |
