| Brief History / संक्षिप्त इतिहास | Salimgarh fort was built by Islam Shah Sur 1545-1554 also known as Salim Shah, son and successor of Sher Shah Sur 1540-1545 . The fort and the barracks were extensively repaired and an informal garden also developed. The partition of Salimgarh fort, which the Archaeological Survey of India initially took over from the army authorities had been developed as a memorial to Indian Freedom Fighters in 1995. |

It is a rectangular single storey building built on a raised platform. It has pillared Verandah on all four sides that is approached by three doors on east and west. The windows have cornice supported by cornice and the roof is inclined having chimneys. |
