| Brief History / संक्षिप्त इतिहास | The laxmi Narayan temple, also known as the Birla Mandir is a Hindu temple dedicated to Laxminarayan in Delhi, India. Laxminarayan usually refers to Lord Vishnu, as Narayan along with his consort Lakshmi.The main architect of the temple was Sris Chandra Chatterjee and built under the able guidance of Pandit Vishwanath Shastri, by more than hundred skilled artisans from Varanasi. |

The magnificent temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. The architecture of the temple is inspired by the Orisson temple style. The east facing, three storeyed temple is raised on a high plinth. The main building has three Shikharas. The highest Shikhara has three Shikharas. The highest Shikhara of the temple is over the sanctum sanctorum which houses the idols of Laxminarayan. The Shikhars are supported by amalakas and finial. There are other small shrines in the complex dedicated to other Hindu deities. |
