इमारत/संरचना/स्थल का विवरण
The monumental red brick cathedral is located in the sprawling green campus. It is built on the lines of European Cathedral but also has some influences of popular regional architecture. The facade is hugely impressive because of the architectural design and the contrast of white against the red highlights the design manifold. The lower portion of the facade has two arched windows each on the side in the centre three semi-circular arched gateways leading towards the portico, which further leads into the cathedral. These arched openings are supported by thick rectangular pillars and pilasters. The upper portion has typical design of porch of the cathedral. In the centre, it has projected structure consisting of rows of circular columns with ornate capitals supporting the pediment and plain entablature . The mouldings have been used to articulate the parts of the entablature. On each side of the central colonnaded structure there are semicircular windows set in rectangular frame, which has pediment design on the top. The centre of the upper portion of the facade has a decorated crown like section with statue of Christ and an emblem. The corners are adorned with identical three tiered turret or tower like structure. The base is rectangular arcaded and colonnaded structure adorned with pediment and dome like elements on corners. The upper two storeys are octagonal arcaded and colonnaded pavillion crowned by cupolas.
