| Brief History / संक्षिप्त इतिहास | Sikh Guru Tegh Bahadur visited and blessed this village so that its inhabitants could be rid of serious and mysterious sickness. The Guru visited Lehal on 24th January 1672 and stayed under a banyan tree by the side of a pond. The sickness in the village subsided. The site where Guru Tegh Bahadur had sat came to be known as Dukh Nivaran literally meaning eradicator of suffering. Devotees have faith in the healing qualities of water in the sarovar attached to the shrine. |

A big gathering is held on the fifth day of the light half of each lunar month. The festival of the year is Basant Panchni which marks the day of Guru Tegh Bahadur s visit. |

It is a double-storey building consisting of iron gateway. It has a corridor consisting of multi-foliated arches leading to the main hall. The exterior facade comprises of multi-foliated niches and rectangular windows. It has a circumbulatory pathway. On the left of the pathway leading to the principal building, there is a small marble shrine marking the site where Guru Tegh Bahadur had sat under the Banyan tree. The central building has a ribbed dome crowned by an inverted lotus and a pinnacle on top. The dome is decorated with petalled leaves at its base. The building is supported by turrets at the corners surmounted by cupola chattris. It is crowned with one Bengali chattri at the center. The interior is paved with marble slabs on the floor in white and grey against black and white on the outer platform. The walls and pillars are also paneled in white marble slabs. The ceiling is decorated with stucco work in floral design. The Guru Granth Sahib is seated under the square canopy at the far end. The 75 meter square sarovar is on the right side of the building and Guru ka langar is on the left as one enters. |

The building is built of bricks and mortar. It has a white marble floor. The walls and pillars are also paneled with white marble slabs. |
