| Brief History / संक्षिप्त इतिहास | Sheikh Ahmad Sirhindi 1564-1624 is recorded to have erected a mosque at his residence in 1008 1599-1600. On the same site a large mosque is recorded to have been built by the Mughal noble Tarbiyat Khan in 1036-37. Most probably the later part of the mosque was made by Tarbiyat Khan. |

This mausoleum is regarded as a second Macca by the Sunni Muslims. Every year, thousands of pilgrims from various parts of the world visit this place to participate in the celebrations, known as Urs of Shaikh Ahmad Sirhindi. The date of annual celebrations varies from year to year. Every year, these celebrations precede by ten days than the previous year. |

It is a single-storey structure based on a square plan. It has an onion-shaped, ribbed dome structure surmounted by an inverted lotus with pinnacle on top. The building consists of pointed arches and minarets. It also has kangoora battlement pattern on the parapet wall. It comprises of a large prayer hall and two graves that are place inside the mosque. |

The mausoleum is a fine building made of bricks and lime mortar at the core and partly overlaid with stone. The dome is built of marble. The building is coated with lime. |
