The spectacular tomb is strategically built upon a hillock. The tomb is constructed on a high platform made of dressed stone masonry. The recently constructed flight of steps leads to the tomb which is an impressive structure raised on a square plan. The central portion has an arched design gateway, which is flanked by niches on either side. The actual doorway is a trabeated structure. The parapet is adorned with Kangooras. The tomb is roofed by a large bulbous dome which is placed on an octagonal drum. The drum is adorned with Kangooras and turrets. The facade is plastered and adorned with minimal incised plaster and stucco ornamentation. The anonymous graves outside the structure are of sandstone adorned with calligraphic Quranic verses in incised plaster. The tomb of Azim Khan is a spectacular structure of Mughal period. |

The basement of the structure is built of random rubble stone masonry with lime mortar plaster. The wall of the structure is built with lakhori bricks with lime mortar plaster. The pillars of the facade is made up of Delhi quartzite. Red sandstone is used in the lintel level and plinth level. Floor is made up of random rubble stones. The entrance has a grilled gate. |
