It lies in the area between the flood plains of Yamuna and Delhi Ridge. Delhi Ridge is northern extension of ancient Aravalli range. The structure is shrouded in an urban setting .

It is the only structure of its kind in the village.It was constructed by a grain merchant in the heart of the village during the late Mughal Period.

The magnificent domed chhatri is built up during the later phase of the Mughal period as a memorial. The Chhatri is raised on a chabutra platform which has now fencing of the iron-grill,all around.The plan of the chhatri is octagonal in shape so it has four faces. Each of the face has multi-cusped arched opening which is surrounded by rectangular bands of decorative mouldings. The Octagonal chhajja projected eve is supported on the carved stone brackets.The canopy is roofed by a bulbous dome,which looks like a ribbed dome.The base of the dome is decorated with floral patterns.the dome is placed on the unpretentious octagonal drum.The dome is crowned with finial.There is a slab of sandstone which has engraved feet on it,is placed in the center of the canopy. The interior of the roof is ornamented with impressive hand-painted mythological scenes.The Domed Chhatri is the pride and heritage of the Mitraon Village.

The structure is made up of modern building material like bricks, cement and marbles. There is a use of sandstone in the cornice and brackets. Iron is used in the railings.
