| Brief History / संक्षिप्त इतिहास | The building was constructed by Ghulam Mohammad Bulla who was a kriyana dealer in the early part of the 20thcentury. The building is presently owned by Mohammad Sidiq Ganai who runs a butchery business. |

Sopore, a historic town of north Kashmir was founded by Suyya an able engineer of King Avantivarman in 880 AD and was named Suyya-pur. Sopore is another riverfront town spread out linearly on both the banks of River Jhelum. The principal occupation of local population is farming and tending fruit orchards. Much like the Srinagar city, Sopore town is abounded with wooden vernacular buildings. The town is known for its apple and grain productivity and as such still bears a number of granaries and orchards. |

The building is a three floor building with a central entrance .The ground floor of the building has five rooms, three on one side of the centrally placed corridor and two on the other. The corridor ends in a wooden staircase. The first floor has five rooms. The second floor has two large halls.The fa ade of the building has arched windows in the 1st floor.T he building also has two wooden dubs projecting from the extreme right and left of the building, in the second floor. |

The materials used in the construction of this building include burnt bricks, cement and lime mortar, wooden door window, frames and panels. The outer surface of the building is constructed in burnt brick masonry with cement pointing. The building has been recently coloured coated. The dubs of the building are supported on wooden brackets. The roof over the dubs has gable ends which have pinjrakari panels. |
