| Topographical Description / स्थलाकृतिक विवरण | The mosque is located within the Muslim Mohalla neighbourhood. The neighborhood is close-knit with houses sharing walls. Much of the historic character of the neighbourhood has changed and whatever is left is rapidly changing, yet the characteristic feature of the area is the traditional shops facing the street, which all the houses have. |

| Brief History / संक्षिप्त इतिहास | Mian Nizamuddin, erstwhile Prime Minister of Poonch, had bought a large portion of land in Reasi as his jagir and the area came to be known as Jagir Sila Madi. He lived in this area till his death. Mian Nizamudin built many attractive buildings for his residence in Srinagar, Reasi and Poonch. His family migrated to Pakistan and his house in Reasi became a custodian property thereafter. The Masjid is the oldest one in the area and was used as Jamia Masjid up until the modern Jamia Masjid was constructed. The Mosque is still in use. |

The town of Reasi is largely an agrarian based economy, drained by the mighty Chenab River, and home to many important historical events. Dominated by the robust Bhimgarh Fort, the town is one of the oldest in the state of Jammu and Kashmir and was the seat of the erstwhile Bhimgarh State, and is said to have been established by Raja Bhim Dev somewhere in the 8th century. The town still has strong reminders of its ancient past in the form of little known temples like Bhimsen Devta. |

This mosque is very similar to one built by Mian Nizamuddin in Poonch, only slightly less decorative in quality. The layout of the Mosque is square, where the central core is occupied by an open and paved square courtyard and chambers arranged around it. The single storey building is accessed by a large and elaborate entrance gateway with decorative motifs surrounding it. The doorway leads to a foyer which opens into the courtyard. Across the courtyard is the main prayer hall with a recessed mehrab. An arcaded portico fronts the main prayer hall and the entrance foyer. |

The building is constructed in lakhori bricks with high level of embellishments on its facades and columns. Both the outer and inner surfaces of the walls are plastered in lime and are decorated with frescoes work naqashi . The columns bear floral capitals made with limework. |
