| Brief History / संक्षिप्त इतिहास | The village is said to have established in the 19th or early 20th century. It still retains much of its old world rural vernacular character and the lifestyles of people are simple, sustainable and agrarian. The village has some importance because of the ancient Bhimsen Devta Temple. There are a series of five watermills over the village stream flowing downwards. These watermills are each used for grinding maize. |
| Local / Traditional description associated with Built Heritage / Site निर्मित धरोहर / स्थल से सम्बंधित स्थानीय/ परम्परागत विवरण |
The town of Reasi is largely an agrarian based economy, drained by the mighty Chenab River, and home to many important historical events. Dominated by the robust Bhimgarh Fort, the town is one of the oldest in the state of Jammu and Kashmir and was the seat of the erstwhile Bhimgarh State, and is said to have been established by Raja Bhim Dev somewhere in the 8th century. The town still has strong reminders of its ancient past in the form of little known temples like Bhimsen Devta. |
