| Local / Traditional description associated with Built Heritage / Site निर्मित धरोहर / स्थल से सम्बंधित स्थानीय/ परम्परागत विवरण |
The area was one of the most affected ones during the Indian partition of 1947 and was badly destroyed in the earthquake of 2005. These events have therefore made a permanent and prominent impression on the people and also the urban fabric of the area and add, in unique ways, to the cultural essence of the place. |

| Description of Building/ Structure/Site
इमारत/संरचना/स्थल का विवरण |
The building is single storey with a staircase at one end which leads to the terrace. An ornate gateway built in ashlars give way to a central open courtyard. Four rooms are arranged around this courtyard. The property has undergone many modifications after the damage the earthquake had caused. One of the most noticeable is the removal of original wooden ceiling which had almost completely collapsed with RCC slab. Remnants of original ceiling reveal that it was wooden batten type. |

| Building/Structure material and other material used प्रयोग में लाई गई इमारती / संरचनागत सामग्री और अन्य घटक |
The main materials of construction are stone and timber. While the inner core of the walls is constructed in random rubble masonry, the outer face along the street has employed finely dressed ashlars. High quality workmanship is reflected in the construction of the entrance gateway which is cusped arched and deeply recessed. The main entrance door is made of wooden chips pieced together in the form of a pattern and nailed to a wooden plank and covered with wooden dowels. The window and door openings are segmental arched with partly glazed and paneled shutters. The windows are protected by means of a metal awning. |
