| Brief History / संक्षिप्त इतिहास | The building was constructed by Ghulam Nabi Bhat who by profession was a dyer. The building was constructed in the mid 20thcentury. Presently the building is owned by Mushtaq Ahmad Bhat who is the descendant of Ghulam Nabi Bhat. The present owner is involved in textile business. |

Like the historic town of Srinagar, Baramulla is yet another significant town located on the banks of River Jhelum. The principal occupation of the people for many generations has been that of fruit business and therefore the area around the town is seen dotted with many sprawling apple orchards. A number of significant religious places for both Hindus and Muslims are seen in and around the town. |

This building has three floors with a projecting bay running in the centre of the building. The entrance is through the centre of the building through a verandah. The building has three floors with the staircase being located at the end of the centrally located corridor. The ground floor has four rooms, the first floor has two rooms and the second floor has three rooms and a hall. |

The materials used in the construction of this building include random rubble stone for plinth , dressed stone for the front facing of the walls , bricks for core of the walls , and timber for door and window frames . The brick masonry was originally done in lime mortar but recently cement mortar has been used for pointing. Brick bands surround the window frames. The dubs in the first and the second floor are supported by brick pillars. The roof of the building is made of galvanized corrugated sheets. |
