The building forms part of the closely built neighbourhood of Baramulla town which is located on the right bank of Jhelum River and surrounded by hills and cultivated land. |

| Brief History / संक्षिप्त इतिहास | The building has been constructed by Tariq Ahmad Zonga in the mid 20thcentury. Tariq Ahmad Zonga was a government employee in education department and after retirement from the services has started his own timber business. |

Like the historic town of Srinagar, Baramulla is yet another significant town located on the banks of River Jhelum. The principal occupation of the people for many generations has been that of fruit business and therefore the area around the town is seen dotted with many sprawling apple orchards. A number of significant religious places for both Hindus and Muslims are seen in and around the town. |

This house comprises three floors. The building has a central entrance leading to the corridor with three rooms on either sides of the corridor. The corridor ends in the staircase leading to the upper floors. The building has three floors with six rooms on each floor. The building also has a wooden dub in the centre of the second floor. The building displays substantial levels of ornamentation in its main fa ade which has made use of moulded bricks and pilasters. |

Burnt bricks masonry done in mud mortar in superstructure. The plinth is built in stone. Timber is used for the making of door and window panels. The building has rectangular window frames in the ground and the second floor while the first floor has arched windows. The building facade has two wooden fascias separating the floors. The roof of the building is of galvanized corrugated sheets with beautifully carved wooden eaves boarding. The front fa ade is decorated by means of brick moulding and pilasters around window openings. |
