Rich microlith yielding sites were discovered on the stabilized surfaces of moderately calcreted yellowish brown dunes Obstacle and Barchan types locally available materials like rhyolite , fine grained quartzite, chert and chalcedony have been used for making tools. The presence of the large number of bone fragments along with microliths in small numbers were also attested on the dunes near Nanawas in District Jalor. On the basis of pedogenesis these dunes do not appear to be very old , probably not earlier than early Holocene. Aeeolian activity seems to have continued even during the early Holocene in this part of Rajasthan. |
