Artefacts occur on the surface and in the upper levels of around 20 cm deposits of ferricretes disconformably capping Sriperumbudur shales, and underlying a silty sand. Elsewhere, the ferricrete gravel rests over a Cenozoic laterite profile. The density of artefacts was around 1 m2. |
