Disconformably capping the Satyavedu formation are ferruginous gravels 1 m thick, and comprising sediments derived from weathering of the Satyavedu formation. Some very rolled ferricrete nodules could point to reworking of Tertiary ferricretes. This gully dissects older colluvial deposits which cover the entire region from Placepalayam to Nambakkam. This region is dissected by numerous gullies. The ferruginous gravels at Kanjipadi contain a few very rolled late Acheulian tools, which are also noted on the surface. |
