The stratigraphic sequence comprises yellowish-brown silts with ferruginous pellets and occassional quartz chalcedony nodules, which is archaeologically sterile. This caps a 2 m thick ferricrete which constitutes the artefact horizon, and which is matrix based with occassional clasts. This overlies gravels of the Satyavedu Formation. Acheulian artefacts are noted only in the upper 1 m of the profile. The site is currently being quarried. |
