Swami 1976 reported Early Stone Age artefacts and microliths on the left bank of the river Kortalliayar. On visiting the site again, it was noted that owing to construction, expansion of village and height of the Sathyamurthy Sagar water table, the context of the artefacts was unclear. It occurs in the vicinity of the outliers of the Satyavedu Formation conglomerates comprising the Quartz Gravel formations noted extending from Rangapuram to Nambakkam. |
