| Description / विवरण | This is a cornice provided above the wall, decorated on both the sides. In this fragment of cornice the upper portion is decorated with rows of flowers within bead designed border.The curved inner portion has a rafter motif, a replica of wooden architecture and below it the reliefs of two dwarf figures ganas is intersting. Both ganas appear to be dancing flying .The dwarf to the left is depicted raising his right hand whereas the figure to his left is shown holding his hand near the chest.Braided hair of both the figures is arranged in a circular fashion and the extant portion of the body depicts ornaments such as karnakundala,vakshahara and kankana. The round face with playful expression and composition of ganas in the inner face of cornices is typical of the early-chalukyan period. |
