| Description / विवरण | Tanpura much similar to Sitar has a big guard shaped tumba having arched leaf plates decorated over its upper portion. It is fixed with a concave plate tabli over it with a piped wooden coil. The belly is attached to a long handle dand . The belly and handle both are hollow from inside. It has three knobs fixed to the upper part of the handle, two of them are fixed to the front side, one of them is of a different shape. One knob is fixed to the left side. One nob at the right side is missing. The concave plate has a wooden groove over it for stretching the iron wires so that it does not touch the plate. The groove has cut marks over it for fixing the wires. The bottom portion of the belly has round beads with which three wires are stretched, one is missing. Three wires are attached, one is missing. It has floral painting around the joining areas. |
