| Description / विवरण | This sitar has a pumpkin shaped black coloured belly with floral and animal figures painted in golden color over. It has a concave plate fixed over it with a piped coil. The belly is then attached to a long handle with a Gulu which is hidden inside the leaf inlay decoration. Its strings are attached to the wooden knobs inlaid with ivory at one side and with two ivory teeth at the bottom side. There are two grooves fixed over the concave plate for stretching the strings so that it does not touch the plate. There are twelve wooden knobs at the right side of the middle portion of the handle while the nobs at the left side are all missing. The nobs at the upper left portion of the handle are also missing while four at the right side are intact. All of its frits tied to the middle portion of the handle are missing. |
