| Description / विवरण | This is a sitar having two pumpkin shaped base supports with wooden floral designs inlaid over them. One of the supports is damaged. This sitar has comparatively small belly tumba and concave plate tabli . This looks much similar to a peacocks body. The tumba belly is attached to a long handle Dand with a Gulu and this joining area is hidden by wooden leaf shaped decorations. It has just seven frets and two strings present over it. Its grooves used for stretching the wires are also missing. There are six nobs present at the upper part and one nob at the side of the handle. The round base supports handles and belly portion all are hollow from inside. |
