| Description / विवरण | A striking feature of the head is the elaborate turban made up of a multitude of narrow decorated stripes wound around the head with two tasseled ends hanging on the temples. One stripe even goes under the chin, probably to help keep the turban firmly in place. A central crest adorns the turban. The broad face with ridged eyebrows and eyes has an expression of singular charm. The beginning of the upper eyelids is marked by a faint incised line. Incised lines just above the eyebrows and around the eyes accentuate the The nose is almost triangular with lightly marked nostrils. The upper lip is shaped like a bow, the lower lip is thicker than the upper one.A bow-shaped moustache adorns the upper lip. The round chin is marked by two incised circles. The edges of the moustache as well as the lips are also marked by incised lines. The eyes have distinctly marked pupils. The wide open eyes with the gaze at the observer and a slight smile playing on the lips have given the face a very attractive expression. |
