| Description / विवरण | Devi seated in Padmasana cross legged in dhyana mudra meditation posture . Her head is adorned with karanda makuta in six receding tiers and surmounted by tuft in the centre on the top. The ears are decorated with chakra kundalas. The right rear hand holds the damaru with its fore finger, while the remaining fingers point sidewards. The right front holds a flower. The left rear hand holds a three pronged trident the outer prongs bent inwards and touching the tip of the middle prong. The front left hand in broken. Around the neck are a number of haras one after the other adorning the chest portion, above the breasts. The outer necklace is made up of mango shaped beads with a central pendent. Other ornaments include bhuja kirtis and bahu valayas, wristlets and anklets. The loin is tied with a girdle mekhala with a central tassel. The image is characterized by broad fore head, angular eyes, linear eye brows and profuse ornamentation which suggest Kakatiya workmanship. |
