| Description / विवरण | The decoration consists of an upper border of blue lotuses alternating with stepped pyramids now missing, a broad central band filled with a lotus rhizome, and a lower border consisting of a row of bells alternating with jeweled buds, both hanging from beaded chains that cross each other to form a continuous row of lozenges. The rhizome itself shows a broad undulating stalk from the nodes of which break forth intermeshing side stems bearing large full-blown lotus flowers, and subsidiary leaves and buds. The flower is naturalistically conceived consisting of a central pistil marked with small circles, rosettes, and other floral marks and ringed by stamens followed by two concentric rows of petals. The closed buds are conical in shape and the cup-shaped leaves are frilled at the edges. |
