| Description / विवरण | The God is in ardhaparyankasana with the Goddess seated on his lap. He embraces her with one hand touching her under the breast. The lower right hand is in abhaya mudra while the other two hold an aksamala and trident respectively. A serpent hood can be seen over the God’s right shoulder. The Goddess holds a mirror in the left hand and embraces her consort by passing her right hand over his shoulders. One of her legs rests on the head of a gana. To the left is another attendant carrying a club below whom is a seated image of Ganesa. Above are female cauri-bearers seated on pedestals, four-armed Brahma on a lotus supported by a circle of geese and Visnu on Garuda; and on the top flying Vidyadharas holding a crown. Below Siva’s feet is Nandi accompanied by a gana facing whom is Skanda riding on a peacock; the lion vahana of Devi peers above the group. At the base are three ganas, the one in the center kneeling, the others in playful attitudes. |
