| Description / विवरण | The Buddha, nimbate, is seated in Dhyana-mudra the head tilted slightly forward. The features are sharply chiseled, with rather narrow eyes, a prominent urna and thin lips. The wavy hair is combed backwards and over the usnisa. The robe, covering both the shoulders, falls in schematically arranged folds consisting of raised ridges more sharply incised on one edge than the other, the end falling beneath the left wrist. The seat consists of a beaded cushion placed over a piece of cloth. On it are carved monastically garbed devotees standing at the sides, and another kneeling in the center. |
