| Description / विवरण | The octagonal section of the tapering shaft is clasped by a heavy square band decorated with festoons which issue from small Kirttimukha medallions and are held by crouching ganas at the edges above are lotus demi-medallions alternating with blue lotuses. A short sixteen-sided section follows, capped by a cushion on a floral band which supports the capital proper consisting of a ghata-pallava topped by a plain abacus. A very similar fragment is now preserved in the Tulsi Sangrahalaya at Ramban, Satna District. It is perhaps this latter example which is illustrated by Banerji, Siva Temple at Bhumara, p. 6, Pl. V b. |
