| Description / विवरण | Broken torso of Saivate dwarapala. Head is decorated with prominent jata makuta, studded with precious stones, crescentic moon and serpent on the front side of the jata. The crown is conical shape in receding tiers. Face is slightly inclined towards left. Hair on the rear falls on both the shoulders. Ears are decorated with makara and patra kundalas. Around the neck and on the chest there are two tight necklaces kanta malas , There is a long thick beaded yajnopavita mukta Yajnopavita across the left shoulder. The right hand is broken. The left arm is decorated with ornaments like bahu valayas, armlets with lion motif and a wristlet.A waist band udara bandha is also seen. The lower part of the image is missing. The waist portion is decorated with a girdle mekhala and a short lower garment around the loin ardhoruka . The left hand is kept on the upper part of the gada broken . The fore head is broad, while the face has thick lips and fleshy cheeks. On the whole, the image presents a bulbous look rather stout. It shows the features of the Rastrakuta School of Art. |
