| Description / विवरण | Chamundi seated in lalitasana aspect with the right leg bent inwards and resting on the pitha with the foot open to the left, while the left leg is bent towards left and hangs down with the foot kept on the foot rest. The head is adorned with jata makuta with crescentic Moon on the front. The hair is knotted in conical shape with receding tiers one over the other. It is four handed. The right rear arm holds a conch, while the front right holds the sword. Similarly, the left rear hand holds the damaru where as the front left holds a cup. The face is abraded. The ornaments include necklaces, keyuras, and wristlets. There is a lower garment tied to the loin with four straps around the thigh with a central tassel. Underneath the pitha is a dwarf male with folded hands in anjali mudra. The image looks slim proportion with a fiery look. It seems to belong to the Chalukyan idiom in style. |
