| Description / विवरण | A beautifully carved stone slab bearing the figures of Ganesha alongwith other deities in relief and also inscribed. In the upper tier from left to right the figures of dancing Ganesha and Ganesha in lalitasana are shown. The Nrtya Ganesha has four hands holding the parasu with upper right hand and the lower right hand is in vitaraka-mudra. With his upper left hand he holds the lotus-stalk while the modakpatra is held in lower left hand.Ganesha is well ornamented. In the second tier three figures of Ganesha are shown along with a cock on the left end. In the third tier figures of elephants and cocks are depicted moving in a row. In the fourth tier a male figure is shown with pen and writing on a patta Slab . Very close to this figure a standing goddess is shown. A figure of Varaha boar raising its snout is close to the Goddess which indicates some Puranic legend. The last figure is of a yogi with elongated ears who is shown in Padmasana under a tree. Fifth tier is highly carved and it is full of different figures of deities like Kamadhenu heavenly cow . A Naga and three figures with hood of Nagas as haloes of which one figure of Nagi is shown. The scenes depicted in each tier need further study. |
