| Description / विवरण | This is bust of a male figure.His braided mat flows down and rests on the shoulder and held by a roundish band Ratnapatta above the forehead is noteworthy. The round puffy face with wide opened eyes and slightly protruded chin exhibits the skills of early chalukyan sculptor.Part of nose and lips are obliterated.His elongated ears are decorated with ornaments and wears a broad vakshahara.The beaded yajnopavita supends from the left shoulder. Other limbs are missing. The subtle expression and elegance revealed in this sculpture is the hallmark of sculptural art of the early chalukyan period. |
